India’s largest telecom service provider Bharti Airtel has announced an new data plan for all customers purchasing a new 4G mobile handset and the company is offering 10GB 4G/3G data on a recharge of Rs 259 along with any new 4G handset.
1GB data will be instantly credited to the customer’s account and additional 9GB data can be claimed by the customer through MyAirtel App and the data will be valid for 28 days and users can avail a maximum of three recharges within 90 days, on the offer.
The special Airtel 10GB Data Offer, which was introduced in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh last week, has now been extended across India and is available across all brands of 4G handsets.
Airtel 4G is currently available in 18 circles across India and in non-4G circles, 3G data will be available to customers with their 4G devices and commenting on the offer, Ajai Puri, director, market operations, Bharti Airtel, said, “We are proud to have pioneered 4G network for users in India.
And this invitational offer has been designed for our data savvy customers who can now experience high speed broadband on Airtel’s 4G network with their new devices.” and the company recently relaunched its MyAirtel app with new ‘Airtel Apps’ section that has a collection of top apps under a single interface, in addition to the existing self-care features.
The move could be seen as aimed at countering Reliance Jio, which has its own ecosystem of applications that offer digital content and the newly updated app now provides access to apps such as Ditto TV, Hike Messenger app, Wynk Music, Wynk Movies, Airtel Money and Juggernaut.
The telco said that Ditto TV with over 100 live TV channels and popular TV shows is available without any subscription charges and the MyAirtel app also features Airtel Cloud and Airtel Dialer.
And Airtel Cloud provides 2GB of free cloud storage and backup and Airtel Dialer, on the other hand, offers 50 minutes of free Airtel-to-Airtel calling benefits, in addition to its call management feature.
